Completed in 2023 as part of a new rest stop along Interstate 29, this $194,500 public art installation in Mills County, Iowa, showcases the Glenwood Culture, an ancient Indigenous tribe. This mixed-media project features six, 4' x 12" porcelain enamel panels depicting the tribe's history and traditions displayed on concrete columns. Additionally, two 6' x 10' window installations showcase the theme of bird migration using a unique combination of film on acrylic and water-jet cut aluminum. To add a playful element, five small bronze animal sculptures are hidden throughout the rest stop, creating a fun treasure hunt for visitors.
