The Bonaparte, Iowa Library unveiled the Donor Recognition Tree as a unique public art installation in 2019. The mixed-media piece serves as a commemorative tribute to the library's generous supporters. Designed by Bennett Studio and fabricated by Across the Board Creations, the Donor Recognition Tree is a 4-foot by 8-foot panel crafted from birch wood. A cluster of vinyl leaves adorns the birch surface, while individual donor leaves are crafted from brass. Each donor receives a personalized engraved leaf with their name, and for every $100 donated, an acorn is engraved beneath their name on the birch panel. Through this innovative approach, the Donor Recognition Tree honors contributors and visualizes the library's growth through continued support.
