The Apple Tree Donor Wall is a mixed-media installation near the childcare center at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, Iowa. Measuring 4 feet by 8 feet, this unique artwork features a background of slabbed applewood, showcasing a meticulously crafted apple tree trunk with gnarled bark. The main branch and minor branches extend outward, adorned with vibrant red applewood apples and lush applewood green leaves. Each donor's name is elegantly inscribed in calligraphy and hung from a brass hanger pin, highlighting the contributions that nourish the hospital’s growth. Beneath the branches, a collection of red applewood apples depicts the continuous potential for new support from future donors. Installed in 2012, this piece honors past contributions and inspires ongoing generosity.
